Im running Vista Home Premium on this laptop, and I have no problem getting past the intro screen and into the main menu. As a matter of fact I can actually play the game without a problem. The only issue I currently have with the game is that im running the Toshiba Satellite with a display setting of 1440 x 900. However, I do run into a problem when I try to change the resolution, it makes it so big that all I can see is the "abbrechen" box and nothing else. Then when I try to restart the game all it does is start up for a split second and then goes directly back to desktop.

Im sure the issues does lie within Vista in my case, as the game is made for Windows2000/XP. As far as you not even getting into the game, I really don't have a clue as to what the problem could be.

Perhaps try installing patch 1.3. And I would also suggest you look into the LA Total Convertion Mod, as it actually translates the game into english as well as add over 60 American Emergency units into the game, if you ever get that far.

sounds like it may be a hardware problem or maybe a bad install. I would try uninstalling and then re-installing the game. If that doesn't work, it may be a hardware problem. I would try to find the log file in the games installation directory and it should tell you where the problem is. I hope this helps.

No i don't think it's a hardware integrated or a installation problem, because i also have the same problem, I can't see the menu. I have an ASUS F3SC. But in the xp, if you have K-Lite codec pak, or something like that installed on your os, unistall it. Then it can work on XP, it worked in mine at least.

But any suggestions, about vista?

Thx for your effort but didn't work buddy. I downloaded the patch from the link you put on your message and set it up but didn't work. What else could it be? Vista Home Premium is a 32bit OS. Do you think it has something to do with this?

maybe, Im not sure if Home Premium could be the cause or not....You could try turning UAC off temporarily and see if it installs?

If you have not found a solution yet try this. Go to desk top right click on the icon for Emergency 4, go to properties and check the box to run program as an administration program. I have had to do this with several progams not set for vista, and they work fine after making this change.

Turning off UAC is a good thing for me, because i was sick to get prompts from vista like "will i run this program?", "look, are u sure?", "hey, i'm not responsible for the results, just to let you know", and i scream "Enoooooouuuuuuugh!" Thanks for saving me from this dmax. But,

Our main problem continues, it doesn't install and crashes back to Vista. I have also sent an e-mail to sexteen-tons but they haven't replied to me yet.

Rescue34 i also tried that, when you say "the box" did you mean

1. a pull-down menu with a little arrow on the right and from there you can select compatibility (vista isn't selectable there)?

2. Or, just the selection that when you right click it reads "run as administrator" that has a shield icon on the left?

I did the second only to crash back into vista again.

Anything else?
