Vista - The Sims 2 issue

Hello, I have a HP Pavilion tx1000 tablet with windows Vista, I have recently purchased The Sims 2, however it seems to install just fine, but whenever i try running the game I get a compatibility issue error, I've already tried using compatibility mode, and downloading the update from The Sims 2 website, neither of these however fixed the problem, actually it turned with giving me a blank error whenever i try running the game. Thank you.
