Crysis 64bit issue

I am having what seems to be the common problem of trying to run the 64 bit version of crysis and getting a black screen then crash right after launching the game. I have done a lot of searching and did a few of the suggestions like uninstalling the Nvidia Network Access Manager, changed my settings to force vsync both on and off, and set single display performance mode. I have tried both exes in the 64bin file, launching from the vista game explorer and my drivers are up to date. Also like others the 32bit version works fine. I have also reinstalled the game.

Specs
2 8800gt sli
Asus p5n-d
4 gigs ddr2
vista ultimate 64 sp1

Thanks for any help.

Re: Crysis 64bit issue

Had the same problem ... fixed it by running Crysis in DX9 mode rather than DX10 (go to Games, right-click on Crysis and select 'PlayDX9')

Have you tried disabling SLI to try and isolate the problem?

Re: Crysis 64bit issue

Alright I got it working though I am not 100% sure how. Biggest thing I tried today was dl this Download details: DirectX Redist (March 2008) . Didnt work at first then I realized I still had compatability mode on and turned that off then it worked.
