tcp/udp port settings OFP GOTY

Hello, I have tried for days to figure this out on my own and have had no luck at all.

I recently got a new computer and was finally able to get my favorite game, Operation Flashpoint (GOTY edition) to run in Vista. Now the trouble is I cant get multiplayer between two computers running Vista via LAN cable to work. I contacted the game manufacturer and they sent me this...

Make sure the following ports are open on your Router/Firewall
Direct X will need port 47624 or 6073 tcp both outgoing and incoming
2300-2400 tcp both incoming and outgoing
2300-2400 udp both incoming and outgoing
Operation Flashpoint needs 2234 tcp both incoming and outgoing
Whereas Operation Flashpoint Resistance uses port 2302 by default

No joy. I should mention that even though I am semi-literate when it comes to computers I was able to do this on XP with little to no help. I cannot believe how non user friendly and frustrating the past few days have been trying to figure this out.

Any (step by step) help anyone can give me would be GREATLY appreciated.
