Heroes of Might and Magic V + Vista X64

Hello, I just got a new computer running a few days ago, and installed Vista Business X64 on it. I have an E2180, P35 motherboard, 4GB of memory, and an Nvidia 7600GT. Anyway, I've been having some strange problems with every game that I've tried to install so far, but the first one I decided to troubleshoot (since it's one of the newest games I have) is HoMM V. Anyway, my problems involve random crashes, missing or corrupt textures, and broken audio. These haven't happened all at once, but there seems to be a different problem plaguing the game every time I try a new install. As of right now, the only problems are random crashes and some broken/messed up creature animations. Anyway, when the crashes occur, I just get dumped to the desktop with the dialogue box saying the program has stopped working but doesn't give any infomation otherwise (it's the box with the animated green status bar). I have the latest Nvidia drivers for the GF 7 series, and I also have the game patched up to the latest version.

I've also had problems with all the other games I've attempted to install so far, (except Steam games) but some of these problems can be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the games. However, there are persistent problems for each of my games that renders them unplayable in one way or another. I'll try not to overwhelm you folks though, so I'll present things one at a time.

A few last notes, I have all the updates for Vista including SP1. I've also tried using the XP SP2 compatibility modes and running these problematic programs as the Administrator, but to no avail.
