Vista - Battlefield 2142 Help

Well, im getting the usual "there is a problem with your connection".
I have tried just about everything I could find on the net to fix this
problem. It happens as soon as I join a map.
It will give me the message, the screen will stay frozen, then it kicks
me out.

I am running a netgear router, model:CG814WG v2
All ports required were forwarded, and no firewall is on.
I am running in compatiblity mode for XP SP2
and I am running as an administrator.
I am running Vista 64 home premium with SP1 and all updates.
System specs in Sig.

Does anyone have any ideas?

You shouldnt have to run any compatibilty with BF2142 and Vista 64 SP1.
Try removing it and running the game as an administrator again.
Also, i've had problems similar to yours in the past when running anyDVD or Alchohol 120. The only way to resolve this was to uninstall both.
I assume you have tried an reinstall and repatch?
http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe has also helped me out in the past when i've had issues.
Make sure you have the latest drivers for your network adapter too..

I will try to run it without selecting any compatibility.
It wont let me install the patch again because it says im already updated.
Im not running any programs other than what came with vista, so stuff like anyDVD and Alchohol 120 arent going to be a source of any problems. I have tried the punkbuster stuff numerous time. Nothing works. I will be sure to check the network adapter drivers and hopefully I can get it running.
