| Vista Home Premium 32 bit | Abnormal Programme termination Hi to the forum, I am new to this site and wonder if anyone else has my problem and also advice how to fix it ? I have a new replacement HP computer with Vista Home premium and have installed a game called immortal cities Children of the Nile on it, and each time I try to run it I get the message in a box :- Microsoft visual c++ runtime library :- X runtime error, programme C:\programme files\immortal cities\cotn.exe. :- Abnormal programme termination . this is what I get every time I try to play the game and a spinning disc replaces the curser and I am unable to eject the play disc unless I reboot my machine. I know this game is compatable with Vista home premium as my previous HP computer ran it no problem, the only thing I can think of which is obvious is that the game needs Active X 9 to run the programme and my replacement machine (the previous one died) had Active X 10 pre-installed and I am not sure if this could create a problem I have tried unstalling the game 3 or 4 times and re-installing it to no effect can anyone help me please ? |

| Vista 64-bit Ultimate Win7 64-bit Ultimate XP SP3 32-bit Pro | Re: Abnormal Programme termination I am not much at games, I just installed one and if I am not mistaken I had to allow it to install DirectX 9. Someone else will have to help you with this; I don't have much experience with it. Sorry I can't be more help! Take a look at these until Sid can answer you. | Ultimate SP1 x64 & x86 | Re: Abnormal Programme termination User Account Control. (For example, Vista always asking if you know what you do) So, sometimes with bad writen progs or in the present case, prog which has not been writen for Vista you can ask to run the prog as administrator to be sure that some necessary writings can be done in some places (it is an example). Right click on your shortcut and launch the game by clicking on "run as administrator" |
