Do you have any lag on the server?

No lag on the server and am not really grasping how lag would effect my sound?

I noticed you have onboard sound, and I know you said you installed the latest drivers for everything. Was the driver you installed for the sound stable and not just a beta? Some games now include different quality settings for the sound. If ET has that sound setting, try setting it down to see if it helps.

Hi Loki,

Try this...

If you are experiencing choppy or stuttering sound

Go into Vista's Control Panel and open the Sound applet
Select your output device in the list that appears
NOTE: the default output device is commonly labeled Speakers
Right click on the device and from the context menu click Properties.
Click on the Enhancements TAB.
Then CHECK the box [x] for Disable all enhancements.

Sadly your suggestion did not work dmex... however, i did figure out why my sound cut in and out while gaming.. it was the latest Realtek Driver for vista 64... i removed them, no more problem.. go figure...

all seems well with my sound, but without the drivers i cant use my mic... am using the two plug type head set and mic-- hoping if i purchase a USB head set and mic it will work... we will see.

thanks for the suggestion peeps-- much appreciated....

peace...
