Re: Game crash problem

i dont have BF2142 but i do have crysis and i found the only way to get it to run is to explore the DVD and install under administrator, after install dont start game but patch first and then apply a NO DVD patch, (gamecopy world has one ) i can only hope this helps, there is nothing worse than having games and not being able to play them.

Re: Game crash problem

if the game works with one card but not two, then you need to further explore what the dual card setup is doing in your rig - Crossfire setup?

Re: Game crash problem

Hey Bompa_dave,

I have looked up the BCCode 117 error your recieveing...

Bug Check 0x117:

The VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTED bug check has a value of 0x00000117. This indicates that the display driver failed to respond in a timely fashion.

That means your Video driver crashed and was reset by Windows...Something is casuing it to hard-lock and fail...

Do you have an option in your BIOS called HPET or High Precision Multimedia Timer?

The story.
came back at home with 2 brandnew video cards from the shop.
cleandup all old video drivers en software.
installed both cards , conect 8 and 6 pin power conectors, conect the 2 cards with flat link bridge (crossfire) on the top.
start pc,installed the drivers Catalyst 8.5 in vista,everything works fine.
start the 3DMark06 test (standard setup) Score 20738 (two card test)
so lets see what the test will be with 1 card installed Score 18735 wow.
suspect tere must be somthing rong.
took out the first tested card and replaset them with the otherone.
stardet 3DMark06 again and in a few seconds (crash , blue screens, what ever you wond) a box on the desctop open with info:
IDirect3DDevice9::Present failetivice lost (D3DERR_DEVICELOST)
IDirect3DVertexBuffer9::Lock Failed:N/A (Unknow)
call the shop, they told me to reinstall drivers, what i dit , result in same problem.
call again,reinstall vista, was the comment, what i dit , result in same problem.
call again,come to the shop with that card we will test it for you, result it works fine.
so installed the card again in my pc,test again , result in same problem.
No able to play a game longer than a few secondes.
lucky, i have still the first tested card and can play with that one.
strange is that i dit so mugh chainges, just plug in the first card ,and it works.
more sugestions?
BTW, thanks you for helping me ;-))
