You do not provide a lot of info re your system & hardware. That said it could be one of these two things...your anti-virus software or there's a problem with your ram. Are you doing any over-clocking ? Is your memory the exact same maker/specs if you have more than one ram stick installed ? Try re-seating your ram. Try running the pgm with your anti-virus software off line. Sometimes , if it is indeed causing a problem , your anti-virus software may need to be uninstalled completely before installing the pgm that's giving you problems. Also you may need to simply uninstall your game , re start your p/c & reinstall your pgm to get it to run properly.

Re: Error Opening the Game file

pgm is an acronym of sorts for Program.

However, all you have answered is that you do not run an AV and that you have new RAM - and just because it is new doesn't help any, it can still be bad.

We need more information:

What are you system specs (see my signature line for what system specs look like)?
Which NFS are you installing? There are only 12 of them....
Have you used the disc on another computer to verify your disc is not scratched or otherwise bad?

Just as a base of reference, I have NFS:MW Black Edition working perfectly fine in Vista Ultimate x64 w/ SP1.

Re: Error Opening the Game file

No doubt a bad/scratched disc could cause problems. What about the o/c ? More info really would help.

Have you tried the easiest , sometimes most effective , fix which is to uninstall your pgm/game & then reinstall ?

Also , as noted , make SURE you have latest update/patch for your pgm.

Re: Error Opening the Game file

NFS is short for Need for Speed. Have you tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it?

What do you mean copy it? Do you legally own the game? Did you install the game properly without any modifications?
