I must be doing something wrong i have 2 9800gx2's on quad sli and quad x9650 3.0 ghz and 8 gb of ram,and i get about 2 frames per second, really. At first i had 32 bit vista ultimate but i just bought 64 bit vista ultimate,is this my problem. It was much faster on 32 bit,but the memory went from 1.7 on 32 bit to 8.2 on 64 bit?????????

My son is using my old system & it has the following specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo
Nvidia 8600 GTS
2gb ram

He was running it just fine. The above system has a weaker video then you. Did you make sure that you used the 64 bit drivers from Nvidia not Vista's internal drivers?

I have the 7.15.11.7519 driver downloaded today and i have made sure that quad sli is enabled in the nvidia control panel. Is your son using vista,i think this maybe the problem.

Running a Q9450@ 3.3, 8GB of 1066 Corsair and a single Radeon HD4850 on Vista 64. Crysis runs smooth as butter on my 22" LCD, even with DX10 shaders. Haven't benchmarked it, but I don't notice the framerate at all, I think it's probably running between 25-30 during intense parts.

Have you tried taking out one of your video cards and see how it runs?

Check your power supply. Running those specs, you'll need at least 750-1000 watt supply. I'll almost guarantee that's your problem. Ensure all the power connectors on your card are hooked up and firmly inserted. I can hammer through Crysis at 1920x1080 on my 40inch Samsung LCD TV at easily 35-40 fps on mixed High and medium.

I think its my pc.fsx doesn't play as well as it should.I bought this pc based on articles from the net and youtube, who can set crysis and fsx on max settings, but with lesser pc's than mine,i don't understand why mine lags so bad.I think i'll phone mesh who i bought it from on monday. How do i test the overall power of my pc?Thanks again for your help lads.Should i phisically remove one of my cards? How will this affect my other games?Check out this vid(http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=UXlR-Sjwg4w),the guy is using the same cards as me,and its flying.I did notice one thing,it seems to be people with cpu's faster than 3.0 ghz that can play crysis on full?Someone mentioned that my cpu might be bottlenecking? How do i overclock quad x9650's?

When i go to the nvidia control panel/system info,it has 4 9800gx2's listed.I checked to see if they all had the same info, but the bottom one said IRQ 16,all the others said IRQ 0.What does this mean?

I saw this on another forum:

Did you install drivers for both GPUs? Since 9800 GX2 is a dual GPU GFX you need to install 2 drivers not just 1. If you only install one then you get half the performance leading to half memory, bandwidth, fill rate , texture, core , memory, shader clocks speeds etc...

Is this true,and how?

I just benchmarked it and got:P13942 3DMarks,CPU Score 11473,Graphics Score 15019,Driver status WHQL - Not FM Approved.
Can be seen here:ORB - World of Performance

clocked my qx9650 to 4.00 ghz,my new bench is 19500,still can't play crysis on full?

I have almost the same set up except I only use one 9800 gx2 and I get 15-20 fps on very high and 29-35 on high. Thats messed up, try running performance monitor to see whats bottlenecking, I doubts its crysis, you probably have another hog in your system. That game is ridiculously machine hungry and its the only gfame out right now that makes 9800 gx2 seem like an old card.

My Computer

Its your video card not RAM or CPU. You need a very highend video card to possibly play it at full with everything turned on to maximum.

The 4780 x2 might be able to handle it.

This question seems to have been ignored, but we *really* need to know - since you are using dual 9800 GX2s in SLI, you'll need a *minimum* 1000W PSU - so, what is your PSU putting out?

Anyone know good settings for FSX?Lags like a handsome frog!Maybe its dx10,i've just bought the acceleration pack for it which is supposed to turn it from dx9 to dx10,and it lags much worse that before???

Does anyone know which folder i should be installing games in,they always go in program files(x86),but often wont update because the patch is looking for the game in program files and wont let me change the route?

1250w Should be more than enough for both cards I assume (I dont have them to know firsthand myself)

I dont know why your getting so much lag, My setem doesnt come close to yours and can still play crysis at 30fps, It might be incorrect memory timing, bad hardware or another issue were not aware of

For me I install games to a separate Hard-drive for the best speed to something like "X:\Games", You shouldn't be having problems using ProgramFiles, all games create registry entrys with the correct path and do patch sucessfully ;)

Hi truebrit, the above is a chipset and processor compatability, have you the maker's name and the model description of your motherboard?

As for FSX, the FSX out of the box can only make minimal use of more than one CPU core, with Accelerator installed it is supposed to have true multicore capability, as FSX is much more CPU orientated than other games its performance as such is much more determined by your processor than your graphic card, [ once your graphic card is in the high range ]. FSX is not designed to work with SLI, so I presume under quad SLI one of the 4 elements in the Quad setup will actually be doing work for the game and the other three will be doing nothing.

Best and Warm Regards
Adrian Wainer
