| Vista X64 Ultimate | Re: Arcade Try checking for patches if any for those games. Next try right clicking on their icons, selecting properties, and then on the compatbility check the box to run the game in compability mode, but in this case select WindowsXP SP2 mode, and below the OS compability section check the box to disable visual themes. If this doesn't work, it could be that you might have to setup a WindowsXP machine or redo your Vista machine to be able to do dual boot, which would enable you to boot between Vista and XP, to be able to run those games. |

| Vista X64 Ultimate | Re: Arcade Good luck and do make sure, you download and install Service Pack 1, it it wasn't already integrated with the Windows Vista installation on your laptop. Service Pack 1, fixes a lot of compatibility issues with Windows Vista. I ended up having to patch the games Call Of Duty 2 to version 1.3, and Quake 4 to version 1.42, to get them to run on Vista. Both games I mention are First Person Shooters. I have the PC Game version of the TV Game Show, Deal Or No Deal, that game runs just fine without any patches on Windows Vista. This is an example of how some games will run fine on Vista and other's won't. The games I have that don't work, are too old, or use a 16bit or 24bit Install routine. This is another example of a game that works on Windows Vista. I have the Windows 95/98 Casino Simulation called Golden Nugget, it works on Windows Vista, as long as it runs in WindowsXP with Service Pack 2 compatibility mode. For all intents and purposes this game should even work on Windows Vista, and yet it does, and I'm running 64bit Windows Vista. |
