Vista - Sims2 cheat window

Hi, I recently bought a new laptop which runs with Windows Vista.

My old computer was a Windows 98 and I had my Sims2 downloaded on that with...4(?) different expansion packs. It worked perfectly fine, it was just slow because I shared that computer with my siblings so it was very bogged down.

Anyway, I downloaded my Sims2 onto my new Compaq. It works great! Only, I can't get the cheat window to show up. I know how (ctrl+shift+c), it just doesn't work when I try.

My friend at Best Buy said it's because the hot keys are different for windows vista.

I've checked the maker's website, I've looked EVERYWHERE for an answer. If anyone could help me that would be amazing. I would be very very grateful, because I'm very frustrated and very desperate.

After having searched around a bit, it seems that most of the time, other users have a program that uses the same shortcut for something else. So could you tell us the programs you have installed on your computer? Or if you wouldn't like to tell us as a matter of privacy, I would recommend you look at the settings of your different programs to make sure another program isn't using the same shortcut.

ALRIGHT!! I FIXED IT! this is what i did, i closed out of everything. typed in ctrl+shift+c and this program about HP health check popped up. I called my local best buy to see if it was anything important, and they said no. SO i removed the program and the SIMS2 is working to my satisfaction! THANK YOU!

hey i am having the same trouble not being able to get the cheats window up, i have the sims on windows vita although everyone i asked seemed to tell me it didnt work on windows, even the people on the store who sold me the game told me it wouldnt work but i have installed thegame and proved them all wrong
but i just want the cheats window to come up i even tried what was written above but it didnt work can someone please help me!!

Hi, idont know if this comes in handy but - to open the cheat window on sims 2 playd in vista, just press ctrl+shift+windows button thene C

how dird you remove hp health check? i have the same problem.

Goto control panel then program and features then look for HP health check then click on uninstall.

you dont realy have to un-install it because i didnt instead of pressing the normal cheat button i used
ctrl shift windows button and c all at the same time and that worked good for me but yea otherwise just go into control pannel remove programs and find the program your looking for and un-install
