Vista - Trying to play GRID....need help please!

So I just got my computer back from a friend that switched out my Hard drive for me. I am now running Vista 32bit.

I'm trying to run the car racing game, GRID on it. I know that I'm running DirectX 10 on Vista, but this game will not run on 10, only DX 9.

How can I make this game run??? Please help! I bought a game that I haven't been able to play!

Have you installed the latest update of directx from Microsoft, that can be a problem sometimes. here the link

^^thanks, but I forgot to mention that this game WILL NOT run with DX 10!

So my main question is:

How can I run this game using DirectX 9?? Can I run the rest of my games with DX 10 and this on DX 9??

...if I have to switch to DX 9, so be it. I just want to play this game already! lol

You can use both but you need to update dx to play download the link i gave you it will work, that is for everything

I already have that August redistribution update for DX, and have still been getting the same ol' problem. How do I assign this game to run with DX 9?? That's the problem I'm having :-(

All I see on my screen is black with yellow looking patches.

Yes - I have the minimum system requirements.
Yes - I have a graphics card that supports DX10 and this game.
Yes - I have the latest drivers and updates.

The rest of my games run perfect. It's just this one that I'm having trouble with...

The game will choose DX9 on its own you should not have to do any thing to change it, have you downloaded the latest patches for GRID I think it is v.1.2 Patch here is the link

To use the no CD fix go to the grid.exe file and rename it to gridbackup and copy the fix into the same folder
