I am getting Far Cry 2 tomorrow morning. It came out today but my Gamestop wont have it til tomorrow morning as it has to ship out to the west coast.

I'll post some info and some screenshots ASAP tomorrow morning after I go get it and get going.

I've been exited to get this game. I can't wait!

I have it already and already completed it.....no not really, I do have it although, I am a bit surprised that you would not have gotten it first considering you live in the U.S. I thought we had to wait until last for everything over here.

It's a great game from what I've played so far and there is a new nvidia Beta driver made for the game 180.42, from what I can gather the main reason for the release was to give full SLI support for the game.

Yea It's great so far. It was released yesterday. and most of country had it. but I had to wait til today to get it cuz shipping to east cost. When was it released for you?

I have some Great screenshots.
I will say that FC2 BLOWS crysis away in terms of Graphics. this game is simply stunning. The best looking game I've ever played.

It's pretty fun. things aren't destroyable like Crysis. but thats ok. the guns are great. My only complains so far is the game is sorta slow. and you don't have a Radar showing you where people are like most games do. the map is "OK"
My only other complaint is the walking.. he walks a little slow. and running holding shift only lasts about 6 seconds and then his vision goes weird and you stop running. it's like he gets tired.. (You'd think my character, a USMC King, and special Ops Guy could run farther than that.. Right??)

Here's some screen shots. Most pictures were taken at night.
I then went to sleep (In Game) for 4 hours until daytime.. there's a full time clock cycle. it's sweet!

Pics.
Near the beginning. It's getting dark.

Water looks great.

Dead guy looks soo real.

I was hoping that things were destroyable like in crysis. I used to blow things up just for a laugh in crysis. Looks like I will wait a bit before buying it.

Ya.. the surrounding are not as destroyable.. you can't shoot tree's down or anything. the bullet marks disappear. but you can't have everything. I mean thegraphics are simply amazing. It looks great. the fire looks great.. Acts real. Moves with the wind and destroys other things around it.

I'm very much enjoying it so far. It was slow at first. but now I own some safe houses. and I have a few Arms dealers. I'e got a strong Sniper rifle thats really making the game interesting. It's good.

I recommend getting it!

Hey I just got it a couple days ago too. Installed everything runs fine the first time. Then the second time when I load it, it starts to lag real bad at the opening 'Ubisoft' titles and so on. Then I have to alt+tab out and go back in and then it runs in windowed mode but doesn't lag anymore. And now everytime I run FC2 it runs in windowed mode and there's no option to make it full screen. Anyone have a similar problem?
Other than that I have no problems. Runs great. Awesome graphics! Just too much traveling I think.

Jeez its pretty. Just amazing graphics....

How did it benchmark for you guys....I was getting about 68FPS off the included benchmarking with fully loaded settings....

I regret taking it back now....so pretty.

Joshes. I had a similar problem.

First time it loaded ok. I played with the settings and reloaded it - I swear it took 5 mins to even go through the first logo animation. It was running at something like 20 frames per minute. I found out it was to do with running it in directX 10 mode - Direct X 9 runs fine but I feel I'm missing out on the really cool visuals.

Any ideas on how to fix this. I'm using the 178.24 driver. But Direct X 10 should work on a 8800gts 640mb

" Nvidia has new beta drivers for Far Cry 2
by Cyril Kowaliski — 4:54 PM on October 21, 2008
AMD put out a driver hotfix for Far Cry 2 yesterday, and now Nvidia has followed along the same lines with a new beta graphics driver release. According to Nvidia, the ForceWare 180.42 beta driver supports GeForce 8800-series, GeForce 9, and GeForce GTX 200-series GPUs, and it's "recommended for the best experience" in Ubisoft's open-world shooter.
Incidentally, Nvidia says this release adds support for several SLI multi-GPU configurations on systems with X58 motherboards and Intel Core i7 CPUs. Neither the boards nor the chips have actually come out yet, though—those are due next month.
You can grab the GeForce 180.42 beta drivers for Windows Vista x86, Windows Vista x64, Windows XP, and Windows XP x64. Since this is a beta release, we probably wouldn't recommend it to folks who value overall stability more than a potentially better Far Cry 2 experience."

Thanks dude. I tried the beta driver and the performance was a lot worse. However, I put the direct X 10 version in a windowed mode it works fine.......That's a bit weird..same issue as Joshes.

Any pointers?

I just got Far Cry 2 as well. Great graphics! It's not all that when it comes to enemy AI but otherwise I'm loving it! I am staying at a steady 55-60FPS on my OC'ed Zotac 8800GT. Not bad at all.
