Dead Space anyone?

I have been having a bash at a new game called Dead Space, and right from the off I had a couple of moments when I jumped out of my skin, and thats with the lights on!! lol

Nasty I have to say, although I am only about 10 minutes of realtime into it, and as I am useless it will take me a long time to get through it lol

Anyone else playing this game?

Also anyone know how you can take screenshots in this game?

Re: Dead Space anyone?

Hello Majkel,

How do you find the viewpoint?

I find the viewpoint takes a bit of getting used to, 3rd person (kind of over the shoulder view) and I love the way you can see your character from all sides by moving the mouse around, my mistake was using the mouse, you have to play with the Xbox 360 controller for windows.

I think I read that it is around 15 - 20 hours worth, but it is replayable due to the ability to customize your weapons

Re: Dead Space anyone?

Yeah, the viewpoint is definitely something to get used to, but like you, I also like the way that we can see the character from all directions by turning the mouse around Interacting with the environment and using the RIG suit is also looking cool

I have to give a try controlling the game using my RumblePad :]

Re: Dead Space anyone?

If I had to make one criticism, it would be that when you are asked to do something by the other characters in the game, your character does not speak, all he does if you watch him, is nod his head to acknowledge things........that is why I love Crysis so much as Nomad speaks back.........still its a minor criticism on what is a terrific game........I highly recommend it if you like horror.

I bought a game called Clive Barker's "Jericho" when it came out and thought it would make me jump, but the only game to have done that is Dead Space.....

Normally I hate Horror, but that's mostly films, even though I have a few, and still have to look away at times lol

Re: Dead Space anyone?

This game gives me creeps I think I almost finished the first round, I'm playing mostly with lights out, so the effect is much better... there are moments that the fear is just paralyzing

Awesome title !

Re: Dead Space anyone?

Indeed, I read a few reviews for this game and alot of them said in their summing up of the game that it left them trembling and other words to that effect

Dead Space is the best horror game I have ever played, I just wish they would make them longer, maybe a sequel? still I have to finish this first and for me its not easy, but hell I love having to retry due to being killed all the time lol

Re: Dead Space anyone?

They managed to create a game which has the ability to bind you up with your computer for hours I love games which gives me challages Dead Space is definitely one of them

Which difficulty level are you playing on ? I started on medium from the beginning

Re: Dead Space anyone?

Yep medium for me too, I never play any game on a higher difficulty the first time through, mainly because I know my ability is poor, but secondly because once I get through it I will have at least another chance to play through the game again but on hard, the more difficulties the better, makes the game have replayability.......

Only game I am going through on hard the first time is COD4 as the chap who built my PC told me its too easy otherwise and even I would breeze through it lol
