Do you prefer Single or Multi?

Title says it all really, but which are you?

Do you prefer to play offline, or online?

I played online a few times, but the time I played against strangers was in COD but I gave it up due to some idiot who thought it to be hillarious to shoot me and then stand over me constantly firing so I could not move, after that I vowed to no more go online with people I don't know, might sound silly but I am not a great gamer, coupled with the fact that I have serious issues, and so anyone who plays with me has to make allowances, I only have one friend that I play online with but he is hardly around anymore due to real life, but we used to just go online in Dark Messiah to face off against each other for an hour or so.

But now I don't go online to play and much prefer to play against the AI (however poor it may be) if however I was to be fortunate enough to play against a patient, understanding and sensible player, then I may reconsider, but there seem to be so few of us around these days.

So what are your preferred methods of playing and why?

Could'nt think of anything better to post, so just took the first idea to come to mind :)

I prefer to play multi-player, simply because of the "human factor"... Sure, it's fun to play against AI, but it doesn't make the stupid mistakes that a live person would, not to mention doesn't have the ability to improvise, overcome and adapt!

LOL You reminded me with your reply that I meant to ask and include in my original post if those that play Single play the Campaigns or go straight to the Skirmish assuming it has one.

I usually try to play right through the Campaign and then go onto Skirmish, but there are some where I just don't like the Campaign and go straight to Skirmish, its usually a Review somewhere that decides this for me though.

What do you mean by Skirmish J&H?

If you played Vegas 1 (can't really call it a Rainbow Six game, now can we? ;)), by skirmish do you mean going straight to play "Terrorist Hunt" instead of the Campaign?

I like both actually especially coming from almost 4 years of Guild Wars. Online to chat up with people and feel like I'm connected and offline if I just want to play alone without having to socialize.

I prefer SP tbh. multi is a good asset to haveon a game, but anyone can throw together a few maps stick a few cr***y guns to you & call it a game. For me, it has to be good sp with well written & emersive story, then multiplayer to build on top of that to add extra replay value.

Now tho, im only playing multi with plenty of thought & effort thrown in, especially after all the slip ups started to be taken advantage of in cod4.

rts multi can be fun with friends, but often players quitting or dropping just results in an instant win/loss, so right now im just ai bashing with players coz its more fun.

I have been playing since the first fps game came out and I like both DM and SP. Games have come along way.
Playing farcry2 DM and SP right now these days, also Crysis.

I love DM for Kingpin, HL1, SOF2 the 3 I played more than 2 years each HL1 1 yr and tested so many and run into a lot of aholes but its just makes them more fun to kill.

Sorry for the late reply to your post.....Hyde paid a visit and I have to keep away then.......to answer your post, I meant with games such as strategy mostly as I am a strategy nut.........so say games like Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars (although in that games case I played the Campaign, but not the Nod one, some I just ignore the Campaigns and head straight for the Skirmish.

And in away yes I do like you said, I usually try the Campaign but if it does'nt grip me then I abort and look for the Skirmish part of a game.........Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood is another case in point, I played the Campaign as it was good and long about 42 missions and then played the Skirmish which I still go back to. :D

Battle for Middle Earth 2 I never went right through the Campaign, and just play Skirmish
