COD5 low frame rates vs cod4

Anybody notice a big drop in performance?

I've got 2 8800 GTS' in SLI (512 MB each)
AMD 6400+ 3.2GHz
ASUS M2n-32 SLI Delux (590 SLI AMD Chipset)
8GB Ram
7200 RPM HDD
Vista 64x

I've got everything to low except for my resolution (needs to be 1150x720 i think to fill up my entire screen, 22" wide screen). I average 25-35 fps and 10-15 while turning.

So am I just crazy or is it lagging for other people too?

I do have the latest 180 drivers.

I did noticed that this game carries a heavier requirement that what CoD 4 did but not to the degree you are describing.

I also have a 22" LCD but I let the game dictate the res and I didn't touch it. I didn't like the fact that it left in on 1024 x 728 but the other res I know to use is 1650 x 1080 and I couldn't get that.

Did you also upgraded to the latest video drivers? Don't ask me why but I have noticed that having the latest drivers I can when installing a new game, helps me smooth out the game play so I make it a habit to do so.

I don't have the retail yet... only played the beta... but it sure sounds like you've got a bottleneck issue with your processor? Basically, your video cards are bored. Have you tried cranking the eye candy up as far as it will go? Play at 1680x1050, full AF, AA, the works.

My single g80 handled the beta just fine. I imagine that 2 g92's would wreak that game given adequate cpu strength and eye candy?

I binned my Athlon x2 5200+ when I got my 2nd 8800GTS 512. It created a serious bottleneck and in some games I got worse performance when running in SLI.

Otherwise, you could try what Fumz said and crank the resolution up. Don't try AA and AF yet, just put the resolution up as SLI only really becomes worth it at 1680x1050 upwards and at lower resolutions your CPU becomes more of a bottleneck because it gets used more.
