My Computer

Well I am not about to download any files.
But it kinda sounds like it might be not enough power from your PSU.

Downloading is not mandatory, I can just post the results here, but it's a pretty long list ;)

Don't think it's the PSU. I have a CORSAIR TX SERIE PSU 650W 140MM FAN ATX.

My Computer

Not sure if this will help but it solved my problems for almost all my games.

Right on the icon you have to lunch the game. Hit properties. Go to the compatibility tab.

Run put a check mark on run in compatibility mode for _(whatever the game was designed for)_ and make sure you run it as administrator.

I read about this, and I really don't know why, but I cannot check mark that button. It's faded. I can't use it :(

@Ki_Shodar

The temperature is ok...I already monitor it and it's in the correct parameters...

I dread having to download txt files but if you were to put yuor system specs, we could try to help better.

Stupid question but it must be asked... do you meet or pass the minimum requirements for the game?

@ki_shodar

Thx for posting my specs.

I had this problem right after I installed Vista x64...about 2 weeks ago. I did not try any other games, because I didn't wanted to go mad and destroy my pc :)

Fifa 09 worked just fine on Vista x32...haven't tried Warcraft.

Did you add any RAM when you switched to x64?

I asked because those are the exact same symptoms I was having with my new build and 4GB RAM. I'd suggest running memtest to see if it throws any errors at you. I had to replace my new mobo because the 3rd dimm slot was faulty. On the replacement board I had to adjust my RAM timings to get it stable.

Start with memtest and then check your timings in BIOS to see if they match the manufacturers specs.

Is the 4GB a 2x2 4GB or 4x1GB? Some boards need to have the Northbridge Voltage bumped up a little when using all the dimm slots.

You lost me there....not much of a tech guy :(

The 4GB si 2x2GB. Can you please explain to me exactly what I have to do?

Thx!

That's okay, until a week ago this was a frustrating grey area for me too.

First download memtest and burn the iso to a cd: (memtest checks for RAM errors)

Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

Then boot the CD and memtest will run automatically. Let it do at least 2 passes (each pass takes about 20min) if your getting errors straight away, you can stop it.

If you have any errors / freezing, remove one stick of RAM and run memtest again. If you don't have any errors on one stick, swap that with the other stick and run memtest again.

If that stick has no errors, place one stick in the 2nd dual slot (3rd DIMM) and run memetest again. If you have errors, then your slot is probably faulty. If one of the sticks fail memtest, then you most likely have some dodgy RAM.

It's a time consuming PITA, but it helps eliminate possible causes. If both sticks come up as error free, then it's most likey a BIOS setting. Try memtest first.

What's your mobo and RAM brand?

Hy guys, Sorry for not replying for so long...I finnaly found out the problem after trying everithying you have told me - my graphic card runs at 69 degrees with no games running :((

My Computer

I'm going crazy here :)

That temperature is normal for Radeon 4870 HD...I ran Memtest for 14h and no errors...i reinstalled Vista, this time the x86 version and guess what...my games (my 2 games) still crash...same error over and over again...freeze, bad pixels, bad colours and restart needed :(

What the heck should I do?

try and clean out your GPU fan, thats not normal for your GPU to run that hot on idle, mine runs that temp when playing crysis on the highest settings, and 260GTX's are notorious for running hot.
