| Vista Business x64 | Crysis/Bioshock Problems in Vista x64 Hey All, I am having some problems with Bioshock and Crysis. I have an AMD 6400+ (3.2 GHz no overclock) on a Gigabyte S-Series GA-MA770 DS3. I have 4GB of ram (2 x 1GB sticks of OCZ and 2 x 1GB sticks of Corsair) dual channel and an Antec 650 watt neopower. GPU is an XFX 8800GT. My CPU gets up to about 50 C and my GPU about 65 C. Both CPU/GPU fans are at 100%. Sometimes, in both games, I can play problem free for about 45 minutes or so. Other times, it will only take 10 minutes for it to freeze up when I play. The screen either goes black and I can't do anything at all. I can't even use Ctrl+Shift+Esc and end the game from Task Manager. Other times it freezes and all these pixels show up on my screen. I thought it was my video card, but I updated the drivers from NVidia and I updated the sound drivers to make sure that wasn't the issue. After the pixels show up, I can't do anything. I have to manually restart. I have played Bioshock and Crysis on Vista Business x32 with the exact same computer (same hard drive and everything), and everything worked flawlessly. The settings were the same back then too. Bioshock had max settings with no Vsync at 1680 x 1050 and Crysis had Medium Spec at 1680 x 1050. I decided to wipe my drive clean and start over with Vista x64 to see if it was any faster. Everything loads faster, but my games aren't working to their full potential. Also I use RivaTuner 2.2 to set GPU fan to 100% and have a Thermaltake V1 CPU Cooler set to max. Anyone else having the same problem or know a solution? Thanks in advance Edit:Crysis was patched to 1.2 and Bioshock was patched as well. I ran the Bioshock updater after installing, but it still says I'm at Version 1.0 at the Bioshock startup screen. Here's what Vista said one time after my restarting: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.6 Locale ID: 1033 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 116 BCP1: FFFFFA8004F494E0 BCP2: FFFFFA600641A8F0 BCP3: 0000000000000000 BCP4: 0000000000000002 OS Version: 6_0_6001 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 256_1 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini121408-01.dmp C:\Users\K-Vista\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-51090-0.sysdata.xml C:\Users\K-Vista\AppData\Local\Temp\WERF749.tmp.version.txt Last edited by 1kvng0; 12-14-2008 at 04:39 PM.. |
