Vista - Crysis Problems!! help plz

I just installed crysis, and i was getting low FPS with my system. (15-25FPS) So i installed the new patches and now the game won't even boot, it says something along the lines of " could not launch main program"

Specs:

Q9400 2.66 quad core
260gtx nivdia card
8gb ram


So my question is what should i do about the Low FPS? i get anywhere from 45-60 in Farcry 2 with everything on Ultra high and for some reason i don't even get half that in crysis..

Also what does " could not launch main program "? how can i fix.

I can't tell you why the game won't run after being patched. Where did you get the patch from? Which patch is it? Is it corrupted? You might need to do a reinstall.

Don't know. Where are you launching the game from? Are you launching it from your games menu? You should.

Be aware that Crysis is still a very demanding game, so you need to make sure you have the latest video drivers and have the game tweaked to run on your system. You can check here TweakGuides.com - Crysis Tweak Guide for pointers to optimizing the game. Very good advice there!

I ran the game with my system specs on DX10 @1280x1024, and though it ran good for the most part, I had to switch over to DX9 on the last level because the game just lagged there. Haven't played it since about 5 video driver updates ago so...
