I've read a bit about them on various forums and nobody has said anything bad about them.

I'll definitely get the beta drivers with ambient occlusion in them. The Crysis Warhead AO looks great, so looking forward to trying other games with it.
i dont know if its just me, but when i put that code on the end of the config file, everything is really dark, the floor is indestinguishable. just looks like a TV with contrast turned right down.

Re: Crysis Warhead Ambient Occlusion

I thought it looked better to me. Defined everything more with better shadows.

Yea it does get a lot darker like that when the sun's down.
I took a few too with the sun just rising, to when it had properly risen:

Re: Crysis Warhead Ambient Occlusion

As this is a new thread from what was posted in the Nvidia driver thread, you can find how to enable ambient occlusion in Crysis Warhead in this thread:

mine doesnt look anything like that, the first two photos are during the darkest points but its practically impossible to see where your going after the first cutscene (the frozen hole and burning huts), navigating through that took me 5 minutes because i couldnt see anything, even with flashlight and nightvision.

pics of settings below, res @ 1920x1080 everything enthusiast
i think that the lighting effects look better, but theres some code i found highly suspicious, maybe if i delete that specific code and see if it changes the brightness.
last 3 pictures sums the code up really, shadows are more defined with the code but delete the last line of code, or alter it to not be so dark.
the first pic is without any code, second pic is with the original code and the 3rd picture is with the altered code.(last line deleted)

Re: Crysis Warhead Ambient Occlusion

I was playing Warhead with my old ECS 8800GT card and I don't recall my images being that dark, can't recall if I was using Enthusiast and/or 1680 x 1050 though.

Since I am not playing any games now, I am going to fire up Warhead tonite and try to play it with Default setting set from the game with my new EVGA GTX260 to see what I get, then I'll try the TWEAK for AO to see if I see any difference.

If I wasn't so lazy, I would also try the differences between using my GTX260 with and w/o the tweak and then, adding my ECS 8800GT as PhysX card along with my GTX260 to see if I gain or loose FPS's but I don't think my PSU is capable of handling both cards though.
