Gamepad stopped working

Ah yes, the wonders of vista lol. Ok yea one day I'm just playing using an old USB Sidewinder that's worked fine forever and all of a sudden poof, no more. It will see the gamepad, but tells me it's not connected properly. Or it will just vanish and reappear repeatedly. Switching USB's has no effect, neither does restarting and it doesn't even see it if I connect it to my motherboard.

<3 you vista.

maybe its not vista being the problem, maybe its the hardware malfuntioning and your dont have anything to blame apart from the obviously flawed vista of which ive had no problems with at all.

It all of a sudden failed, Sounds like it may not be working. Have you tried it on another machine?
Have you downloaded any motherboard updates from microsoft.
Are you having any problems with other USB devices?
