If by latest mouse driver you mean Setpoint 4.70, maybe uninstall it and try an older version,

Download SetPoint 4.40 - FileHippo.com

Give the 4.40 a try. Haven't been following it up much lately but if you check out the Logitech forums quite a few people had issues with the 4.70 when it came out.

Is your video card fairly new? You may try turning down the video settings and see if it helps. Are you playing an online game?

What does non cordless mean? Try a wired mouse.

yes, my video card is new, a radeon hd4850 (trust me, it's a great card).
I'm playing an online game called "osu" osu! - rhythm is just a click away
"non cordless" means that it's wired, this is the mouse:
LogitechG5LaserMouse.jpg

Osu is a rhythm game and mouse lag makes it unplayable :(

Thank you again :)

Interesting. It could be the lag from the internet here. Are you hooked up hardwire or wirelessly?

And next time just say wired mouse.

can't be a lag problem.. mouse lags even in the main menu.. even if i'm totally offline :(
i'm hooked up hardwire (ethernet cable directly to the router)

And next time just say wired mouse.

ok :)

Lol. Interesting problem...

Does it still lag with another mouse? This is important because if it doesn't, then your mouse has a problem.

i set the usb refresh rate to 500hz ^^'
But.. maybe i have found a solution :O
Disabling Aero helps a lot! With Aero OFF i can play without any mouselag :D
And if i set the game to OpenGL even with Aero ON i don't have any mouse lag issue :)

So... the problem can be in:
- Video card driver (i have the last driver!)
- Motherboard's chipset driver (i have the last driver!)
- Motherboard hardware (i'll never buy an abit anymore :\ )

Mouse and mouse driver are ok ;)

All this.. totally IHMO

Not necessarily an ideal solution, but at least it works. Have seen others with the same sort of problem where it alomost seems like Aero isn't turning off when a game is launched, but don't remember the fix. Hopefully someone here does.

Motherboard hardware (i'll never buy an abit anymore :\ )

You don't have to worry about that anymore as Abit is now out of the motherboard business,

Universal Abit has announced that it will close on December 31st, 2008, and officially cease to exist on January 1st, 2009.[1] By 2009, Abit will no longer sell motherboards and may focus on CE field. Warranties will still be handled by Abit for another 3 years or so.

Yeah, i like Aero and i prefer to have it :(
But this game runs in "windowed" mode, sorry if i forgot to tell it :P
In windowed mode Aero remains always on.

You don't have to worry about that anymore as Abit is now out of the motherboard business
Cool, so i can't hope in a new bios update that can help this or other problem :D

Anyway, Thank you for all the support! ;)

hey before you go alex, you are not the only person with this problem, my mouse has a major crap sometimes, but not all the time, it cant even be described as lag, its more like the old ball mice with dirt on the ball, like its not responding and goes where it wants, and i have to unplug my mouse and plug it back in again to fix, but i have found a permanent solution, unplug anything not neccessary in the USB ports, ie/ game controllers, webcams, printers etc.. works after this

i have this SAME problem with my mother's laptop mouse :D
In my case it's caused from the damaged wire, for fix it i bought another mouse :(
Did your mouse have this problem in other OS (like an ubuntu live) or in another pc? If yes it's an hardware problem :(

its with all operating systems, ive tried it with xp, vista, windows 7, ubuntu(linux), mac osx, but these operating systems were installed all on the same machine without any hardware disconnected, i simply unplugged my wireless gaming reciever and it worked perfectly and my mouse is about 2 months old, its always been like this.
