| Windows 7 x64 | Re: would that be a good computer for gaming? He means that the 9800 will hold the computer back. The i7 is a monster, and to let it shine you'll need something like a GTX260 and up. |

| Vista Home basic x32 | Re: would that be a good computer for gaming? You would be able to play WoW with that computer. I find the price good for what's inside of it. Although what I would add is RAM. If the Xps 730x can hold more RAM I say you should go for 6 RAM. You will just never lag. By the way Mr.needs is right you should put on it a better graphic card. With Dell in one click youll be able to have a better Graphic card. Although if you do not have the budget you will still be able to play with that machine. |

| Vista Ultimate 64 bit | Re: would that be a good computer for gaming? I may take it if it comes with 2 x GTX260 and a 22" flat screen for that price. |

| Vista Business x64 | Re: would that be a good computer for gaming? Here is a review from Computershopper (Dell XPS 730x - Computer Shopper). Read there what you need to know. Generally this system is designed for gaming so, yes its very good for that. The gfx cards could bottleneck your gaming performance indeed, but on the other hand 2x9800GT are pretty much capable of everything. The only thing is, that it's kinda pricey* but that's OK from my point of view. *A self build PC would have exactly what you want for a overall lower price. I had 3 Dell Computers so far and eventually my next one will be Dell as well. The higher price you pay compared to a similar machine from the x manufacturer is money well spend considering the support Dell offers. They are very good and carefully assembled and from my personal experience they will work like new even after 4 to 5 years. I m still using my P4 @ 3.4GHz Dell Dimension which i bought early 2004 and it still works like a charm even with Vista on it. ( I could even play Assassin's Creed with it ). |

| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: would that be a good computer for gaming? The only problem I have with Dell is that you never really know what kind of motherboard they will give you, nor what kind of board will the GPU chipset come with, this is all hearsay as I have never had one myself. Being said that, if you don't know how to build your own rig nor have a friend that can help you with that, Dell is pretty much your only choice. Have you seen the Alienware Gaming Machines? Even though Dell bought them out, they are still making some good rigs and they do have cool-looking cases for that much needed Bling |

| Windows 7 x64 build 7100 & Ubuntu 9.04 | Re: would that be a good computer for gaming? Alienware sucks since Dell bought them out. If you are going to spend just short of 2 grand on your computer, definitely build it yourself. I no longer consider prebuilt computers at all, as most of them are such pieces of ****, and so overpriced, it is ridiculous. For that price, you could get a nice case, monster mobo, the same processor, much better video card (one gtx290 will beat SLI2 9800 any day) 1000w PSU, sound card, better HDD (bigger too) and a bluray drive. I built my computer (see specs below) for less than $800. I did get a good deal on my video card though. Anyways, for that price, the computer is not worth getting. ~Lordbob |
