Strange MMORPG lag

Ah, first off, sorry if this is the wrong section to post this kind of thing.

Anyways, i've been having major problems with MMORPGs on my new computer.
Every time I play any MMORPG it might work for a while but then it craps out and either lags so much I need to shut down the game or just flat out disconnects me. (By lag I mean i'll be walking then it jumps back to a previous location or i'll try to attack something and i'll walk towards the enemy and be right in its face but nothing will happen, things like that.)

I can play FPS and other games online perfectly fine with no hitch but with MMORPGs it seems to really screw up, i'm too lazy to post specs, besides that i'm running Vista 64x, but I can play games like Crysis fine on this thing and theres no MMORPG to date that would make me lag from its specs alone.

It feels like internet lag but as I said, FPS games like counter strike work fine, downloads are great, everything but MMORPGs.... So I doubt its actually my internets fault...

So I was wondering if anyone has any ideas? I've tried port forwarding and turning off firewalls/virus software but that doesn't work.
Maybe some vista settings might be screwing things up? I have no clue because I haven't used vista for long at all.

I ping'd a few games via run > cmd > ping *ip here*
The results for my MMORPGs ranged from 150-200ms (being hosted in places like Canada, US, and germany was the only one that passed 200.
Those pings make NO sense because with my crappy 300ish mb piece of crap XP computer ran the same games WAY better and its an 8 year old computer.
The computer I use now is 10x better in every way possible, same internet connection yet I still lag?

Any help pleeeeeeease, being an MMORPG gamer and not being able to play them is torture, so i'll take any suggestions.

(sorry for the long post btw)

What specs have you got (make sure to fill in your system specs page in profile, too :p)

It could be a caching problem with the game. Is there an option somewhere to turn off file caching?

I used to play Star Wars Galaxies a lot, and having file caching off could slow things down a bit after a while.
