DEP stops me from playing my games.
Hi, with all the latest games I have bought (gta IV and mirror's edge) I get DEP errors. I tried to exclude them from DEP but my vista won't accept it. So now every ten minutes my games freeze up. What can I do about it? I've read some artikels about shutting of DEP completely. I'm wondering though what that will mean for my security. On some other forums it has been implied that the DEP errors have something to do with faulty hardware.
Would you please help me. I can't live without my gaming rig...
You can disable it and play the games but I would re enable it after playing the games, doesn't solve the problem but in the mean time it might temporarily help.

does anyone know a way to solve the problem completely. I also wonder if there are more people who have encountered the same problem in the same games.

I have tried that a million times... it just seems my pc doensn't like me playing violent games -.- But now I'm afraid that I might have a hardware error...
Or might it be that secure rom is destroying my game experience?

instead of trying to work out how to disable DEP why dont you ask yourself why your getting DEP warnings, maybe you have a virus or a hacker has manipulated your system, can you do a virus scan and a malware/spyware scan?

Re: DEP stops me from playing my games.
I did scan my system with avira profesional and it came up clean. Wouldn't dare to bother you if was a simple virus. So now it leaves me with 2 possible problems that I can think of. DEP sees secure rom and anti theft programs as mallware (can't even start to guess why that could be the case) or it might have to do with a hardware failure. I read an hour ago that the DEP is directly linked with your hardware configuration so it could be an unknown hardware malfunction. The question then is. How can I find out if there is something wrong with my hardware....

try the hardware in a different machine, and if DEP sees securom as malware, wouldnt it come up on everybodys computer who plays GTA4 and mirrors edge? i have no problems with it whatsoever and heres a video to prove it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3xzZTKyflc (yes bombhead is my alias on GFWlive)

okay guys... been a few days but I found the solution to my problems... though it was a bit extreme... that I didn't notice this before is truly bad btw... I have HUGE issues with my SATA controller on my motherboard... Drives just drop out of exictence and also my ram kept acting crazy. 100 euros and a new motherboard later and everything runs smooth as silk. Thanks anyway for al the support.
