| Vista 64 bit Home Premium with Service Pack 1 | Vista 64 Bit Gaming Compatibility i recently bought C&C Tiberium Wars which is refusing to run on my Vista 64 bit OS. My configuration is way in excess of the minimum system requirements but i understand that there is some issue with the game running in 64 bit. What do i do? How does running it in XP compatibility mode work? |

| Vista Ultimate/buisness/home x64 | Re: Vista 64 Bit Gaming Compatibility If you want the quick step by step instructions to run a program in compatibility mode you can just open up the help file in windows (hit START menu>help ) It has links on how to set up compatibility mode for XP all the way down to windows 95. It works pretty well, but one of the important things you may have to set is "run in administrator mode" Also if you have UAC (user access controls ) enabled, you may have to click through "yes i would like to do this function" a couple times. I can get most older games to run this way, but some games the old 16 bit ones are just not compatible with the operating system. |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Vista 64 Bit Gaming Compatibility hey im wondering if there are any games out there that dont hav to run in 32-bit mode because this seems to slow down several of my games. I play NFS Carbon, and even with graphics turned down, it still lags during races |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Vista 64 Bit Gaming Compatibility 32 bit emulation doesnt slow down games, theres no evidence to prove that 64bit operating systems have bad emulation, if anything my system runs 32bit apps faster than 32bit home premium(had 32bit before 64bit) |

| Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP1 | Re: Vista 64 Bit Gaming Compatibility I had the same issue when I put C&C 3 on my newest build and after installing the latest patches it cleared the problem right up. That's what I'd recommend. |
