I've been playing it for a few days and it is no Crysis Warhead when it comes to graphics but it is pretty good.

Is anyone having issues with sound?

I use a bluetooth headset to play all my games and it works a treat, this demo, however, does not want to cooperate with it.

I have tested that I have sound by playing mp3 songs while on my desktop, I click on the game, it starts and the silence begins.

Any thoughts?

Playing w/o sounds takes the whole inmersion away, which renders the game... boring!

Graphics can not be as cool as Crysis or Warhead since you are inside buildings and such (have not been outside yet) but they are definately better than the predecesors, gameplay is smooth so far but again... sound is killing my fun.

Can you try without bluetooth? Also did you check in-game sound settings?

I think I know what the problem is... or might be.

I tried downloading the demo from two different sites, none of them allow me to use my download manager so I had to use direct download from firefox. Both times, WinRar showed some some of corruption in the files but I was able to install from the last download.

Aside from not being able to save and having to restart from the beginning, I now show a fatal error somewhere after I found the Sargeant and continue on... something tells me that there's where my problem lies.

I am going to try to download the demo from the office since I have a 6MB broadband compare to the crappy 1.5MB I use at home where I usually have issues downloading.

In game setting were of no use whatsoever since you can only change a few settings and I saw no Advance Sound Settings... possibly because of the corruption as well.

Is it me or does the game seems like a console port to PC? I say this because of the Square-Like-360-esque POV the game has. I have a GTX 260 and even after choosing Optimal Settings, the game was set at 960 x 600 res and I had to manually changed the screen to 1680 x 1050 which is my native res.

If you have steam you can get it there

As far as manual saves...forget it. The game doesn't have it, at least not in the demo. Which brings me to another point...stuttering. There are complaints about it, but it mostly happens around the auto save points. So now you know

Fileplanet wants to charge me for it? "F" that, I'll buy the game if I like it but I'll be damn if I pay for a demo.

If you're talking about fileplanet, I agree, however it took like 3.5 hours to download from there ...no bs!!!

Just played the demo and it scared the s**t out of me a some parts. Also I couldn't get the setup to run from fileplanet which is weird.

Well, as stated before, I was downloading the demo from gamershell.com, it had gone about half way when I decided to go downstairs to smoke a cig, my wife decided that she needed to use the PC and restarted to boot into the XP side of things, came back, rebooted into Vista again, tried going into IDm but gamershell does not have the option to resume... almost 2 hours wasted there! :mad:

I was all ready to kick my wife in the teeth but, decided against it since my being upset towards her was a little missguided.

Anyways, came to the office this morning, found the demo, downloaded it in less than 1 hour. Having a 6MB broadband here is cool! :D

I am hoping I can finally get some adrenaline flowing when I get home and install the Demo again. Hopefully, I won't scare the crap out of me all that much seeing as I have already played part of it with no sound.

Looking forward to capping some ban tango's head, not so much as scarring me silly!

I signed up for the free account on Gamespot and used the "Free Download Manager" app, which breaks up downloads into chunks (I do as many as 20 chunks at a time). It was downloading at over 1700 KB/sec. FDM is awesome. Works in Vista x64 too. Plus, if you have multiple sources for the same file, you can add URLs and speed up the process even more. Lightning fast.

Demo was very fun, played perfect. SLI had no problems.. was smooth as butter. Other than the Grainy graphics, hopefully will be fixed in actual game, but it's on my list. Very fun. I had lights off, sound up. and I was scared.. Damn Alma freaked me out.

I also like the fact that you can get into a Heavy (ala Lost Planet), although, that last Boss at the end of the Demo was hard to fight with and I ended up dead each time I tried... in Hardcore of course.

Can't wait for it to be out, hopefully by then, I am going to have my new PSU & case ready to bust some Alma's Butt
