Chess Titans...Does it cheat?

Does anyone play Chess Titans on Vista? I think it cheats a bit. I got the computer down to its King & a Knight. I had three Queens on the board, just because I didn't get checkmate quickly enough it called the game a draw.

I am not bloody Kasparov, why not give me a break?

Re: Chess Titans...Does it cheat?

Well, it would depend on wich set of rules that game is based.
It probably has a custom set with an entry like:

120.25 When the computer is in a pinch, after two movements without check or checkmate.... the game is a draw.

or...

182.79 If the computer is about to lose, the player may unexpectedly lose instead or game end up as draw (random).

Even on easy, the computer is hard to beat.

I'll stick with playing Purble Place. Cakes don't laugh at me or cheat.

Re: Chess Titans...Does it cheat?

Well, I find that I can only beat the computer about 25% of the time. It is the only game that I play on my laptop though. Chess might look a tad geeky at times, but I find it relaxes me. I think if it isn't cheating, it is using gamesmanship. Which in my book is a fancy way of saying cheating!
