Vista - Trouble w/ uninstalled game

Hello,

I recently decided to load up a game Ive not played in a year (City of Villains). Got it all loaded up but then was having trouble with the games online updater - I later learned a fix for this, but in the meantime I decided to uninstall and then reinstall the game. When I tried to reinstall I was told that City of Villains already exists and I cant proceed with the install.

I must have somehow screwed up with the first uninstall. If I go to uninstall the game its not listed and if I look on my HD its not there either.

Running Vista x64.

Please help.

PS - to clarify Im told, "You appear to already have a copy of City of Villains installed ...." when I run the CoV installer.

Does it give you the option to Remove or just install when insert the CD?

It must be something left on the registry not allowing you to reinstall the game again. Have you tried going to their support site and see if they have a uninstall cleaner for their game.

Another option (at least for my narrow mind in the PC world) would be to fo to the registry and look for any remmants of the game but, I would suggest making a full registry backup first and only do so if you are comfortable... you can really screw up your OS by doing this.
