Re: installing games problem

What is the exact error you are getting?

Try exiting out of the Autorun, Explore the cd, right click on the setup and run as an administrator

Re: installing games problem

ok here is what the error says

an error(-5004 : 0x80070002) has occurred while running the setup.

please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications. if the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: bethesda softworks

and it doesnt let me go any furthur no matter what i do... i even installed the game on a external hd from my friends computer and tried and that didn't work either

Re: installing games problem

Are they cracked games perhaps?

Is there a friend or relative who's computer you can install it on just to make sure it's not a disc problem?

You can try putting the disc in, copying all of the files into a folder on a desktop installing from there.

Do you have starforce copy protection software installed from any previous games?

It could also be trying to launch a directx install.
To fix that you could try the following:

Explore the disc and find the folder DXREDIST. In that folder run DXSETUP.exe (This will start the DirectX setup program. It's important that this step is taken, even if you have a newer version of DirectX installed. The newer version won't be overwritten but the installer will let Windows know that it's been run and that should stop the installer from trying to run the DirectX setup and hanging again.
After this try running setup again.
If you still get errors open the Task Manager. Go to the Processes tab. Select ctfmon.exe and click "End Process". Close the Task Manager and try installing again.

looks like you might need to flatten your system and reinstall windows, you seem to be getting a lot of problems, it maybe down to a bad operating system installation. Looking through your posts theres a lot of games that dont want to install or are corrupt while playing. Just wipe the HD clean and reinstall windows again.
