| Windows 7 x64 build 7100 & Ubuntu 9.04 | Re: Vista periodic 60sec lag spike Hello mike, My first guess is a problem with your router as opposed to your computer. Do any other computers have this problem? Does this happen when you are browsing the web? ~Lordbob |

| wista home 32bit | Re: Vista periodic 60sec lag spike hi Lord... yes i have an other pc with windows xp on the same wlan and it gives no lag problems...tryed to ping an internet browser and yes automatically every 60 seconds the answering time jumps from 130ms to 1900ms and over read about on the net that the problem dipends from the automatic search of the wlan for new wirless in the area even if you are already connected to your wlan so in this few seconds you get this lag spike... i want to deactivete this function but i m not able to |

| Vista Ultimate/buisness/home x64 | Re: Vista periodic 60sec lag spike This could be one of the two following problems: 1) If you have a laptop and the power profile is set to 'power saving or balanced' this can happen because vista is slowing down the processor to save power, set it to high performance and it goes away. just right click on the battery on the task bar and choose high performance. I had the same problem with battlefield and world of Warcraft, you get these hesitations every 60 seconds or so. You would think that setting wouldn't make a difference when the laptop is plugged in, but i think it does. 2) If its not a laptop, I have had the same thing happen when you have a usb hub plugged into a usb port. Especially if you have a mouse or keyboard connected to it. everytime you move your mouse or press keys on your keyboard you will get crazy lag spikes. The worst offender of this was a belkin 2.0 usb hub(powered) that I had. just unplug the hub and your spikes go away. Hope all this helps, post back if any of us help this problem go away, this problem shows up about every 2 weeks in the forum. I will check but I dont really remember anyone posting back to say it was fixed, Thanks again! |

| Vista Ultimate/buisness/home x64 | Re: Vista periodic 60sec lag spike Quote: Are you wireless or wired? If you have both enabled on the machine, your wireless will attempt to connect to the wireless network but since you dont have the password it fails. it will lag your machine every 30 seconds or so, because it keeps trying to connect. If that's your problem turn off your wireless and it should go away. |

I am not sure if that could cause a problem like this, but that could be solved by simply turning off the card or adding the password. ~Lordbob |
