Please help My Vista Freezes in Games

Hello I am having problems with my new Vista Machine. Any game I play on it ranging from "Fable-The lost Chapters" to "Call of duty 5-World at War" all freeze. They freeze at random times, it is not constant. Every time It Freezes, I can't do anything but hard reset, also there are no error messages or BSOD. I have checked the ram with memtest and all sticks passed, I checked the ram's timings and voltages, they are set to what the manual and sticker says. I checked the temperatures, everything runs at around 32-40 degrees. I have updated every driver on my rig, and reinstalled Vista, but the problem persists. Please If you have any suggestions tell me, Thank You for your time.

My rig is Windows Vista Ultimate 64

Again Thank you for any Help.

My Computer

have you checked for game updates? BIOS updates (motherboard and video card)?

check ati's forums to see if anyone else has the same problem.likewise with the games forums.
other than that i would say its a video driver issue. sometimes the latest driver isnt always compatible. try an older version.

Hi Silent One,

Try disabling crossfire on the card. I’d read this was possible with a 4850x2 which you obviously have. It "may" solve your problem(s).

To disable crossfire on an X2 you can just select disable crossfire in the system tray ICON or uncheck Enable Crossfire in the CCC. At least I can with my 4850x2.
