Hey Everyone!

I am looking for a new gaming mouse, but I have no idea what to get. So far I have narrowed it down to a Logitech G5 or a Microsoft Sidewinder. I currently have a Logitech G7, however to get a new one is out of my price range. ($50-$70 Canadian). Any other suggestions out there? Leave a note of what you use personally as I am open to any opinions :)

Thanks for your help,

It can also depend on your style : are you a claw gripper or a palm gripper?
FPS Mouse Techniques 101 | pwnGamer

Logitechs are more for palm grips and razers are for claw grips. If your a palm gripper, stick with the Gx series. Sidewinders are good, but the logitechs are more popular. If your a claw gripper, perhaps give one of the cheaper Razers a go.

I'm a claw gripper and I've ordered a Razer lachesis, but the copperheads and deathadders have a very good rep as well.

Thanks for the suggestions.

BoredGunner - My G7 batteries are dying very quickly, and don't last through a long session of gaming anymore.

I will probably end up going for the G5. Thanks for your help. More suggestions are welcome.

UPDATE: After finding an awesome deal ($92 Off) I have purchased a Logitech G9.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I do have to say, the G9 is one of the most comfortable mouses I have ever had. I love the fact that I can pick 5 different DPI quick switch levels, 5 different onboard profiles, adjustable weight (I have an additional 22 Grams/0.77 Oz in mine) and the 2 different grips. You can also choose 2 different scroll settings, line by line or free-wheel. It has adjustable DPI anywhere from 200-3200. I find that the 3200 is exteremly fast and unusable on my 15.4 inch laptop screen. Maybe you need a huge monitor, but I find that 1400 is about the right speed for my taste. You can pick a reporting speed of anywhere from 125 to 1000 times per second. It is believed that a 1000 report/second will use large amounts of hyour CPU's power (Not ideal for a laptop.) The price was right at 60% off. I would recommend this mouse, if you can find it on sale. Overall, I am quite impressed with this mouse.

NoTe: The G9x, the successor will be unveiled soon. Instead of a 200-3200 DPI range it will have 200-5000 DPI. This is the only noticable difference at this point.

I know I shouldn't say this but, the G9 looks so fugly that not even the good ergonomics of it makes me change my G7 mouse. Now, being said that, if after spending all this time updating my rig, the g7 keeps jumping/stuttering/laggin while ingame, I may have to revisit that statement. :D
