| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | DVD not recognized for game install I'm trying to install Age of Conan. When I place DVD in the drive it makes a repetitive sound and does not appear to spin up. DVD is not recognized by system: no pop up window, explorer indicates there is no DVD in rom. I place AoC in a second machine (running XP Pro) and install screen appears. I have installed OS & Office with the rom and placed a CIV IV DVD in drive and that installation started. (i.e. I believe the rom works) For whatever the reason AoC is not even recognized by the rom. Running Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP1 User Account Control turned OFF Software & Games set to "install or run program" Logged in as administrator (Fresh OS install - all drivers are current) I would very much appreciate any assistance, -Donoh |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit OS / Sp2 | Re: DVD not recognized for game install Then ...properly your Optic(DVD) is on the way down hill ....meaning one of the laser could not read at all .sometime it can read cd but not Dvd .. I had some problems like that....and end up buying another DVd burner. Good Luck. (BTW....Did you did different DVDs..?) |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: DVD not recognized for game install I'm not convinced it's a h/w failure just yet. Of the DVD disks I've placed in the rom AoC is the only one it doesn't read. Any other suggestions? |

| Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 : Seven Ultimate x64 | Re: DVD not recognized for game install Copy the files off the DVD to the HD on the XP machine and transfer them across with either a USB stick or burnt DVD to the Vista machine. You may have to use a no-dvd fix if the disc still won't be read on the Vista machine. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: DVD not recognized for game install Good thinking! I fear the drive might be bad after all as I tried using a cleaning disk to clean the lens and that errored out... It kind of takes the mystery out of it at this point. Thx |
