men of war install problem on vista x64

I just downloaded Men of War and I go to install it but it says it's not compatible. I go to compatibility mode and that doesn't work either. Turns out it's only compatible with xp sp3 and vista 32 bit. But I have read posts of people saying they are playing on vista x64, but they don't say how. Any thoughts on how I can make this work? Thanks.

Hello,

I have 64-Bit Vista and it works just fine, what are your system specs?

Have you by chance installed the 1.11.3 patch? if so its for multiplayer only, if you have then that might be your problem, if not then knowing your system specs would be more helpful

Yeah I have the same problem. Did you download from Direct 2 Drive? They have a disclaimer (quite well hidden) that says that this version is known to have problems with Vista 64. I'm going to try getting another version through torrents (well I paid for it, right?).

Re: men of war install problem on vista x64

Downloaded the Demo version and it works fine on my system but once I purchased the Steam Version I cant get passed the intro, I hear the audio track playing in the background but all I get is a black screen, I try ctrl-alt-del and nothing I have to hard boot the system, I tried it with a boxed copy afterwards and still nothing. Any ideas? I have had the problem of having to run some games in windowed mode, but I cant even force windowed on this game. Now I have two copies and still cant play.

Sounds like the video card. Reset your card to the default set up. Run the game and see if it works as designed. If so, reset your video card back up to the setting you like and that is it. I ran into the same problem with Silent Hunter 4.
