Vista - Freezing when opening and closing games

Thanks guys for your cooperation in advance, for it's highly appreciated.


To start things off let me give you guys some specifications of my laptop:

Manufacturer- Hewlett Packard
Model: HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook PC
Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 Ghz: 2.00
Ram: 2.00 GB
32 bit operating system

Vista home Premium

Now the problem:

Everytime I open a game the game freezes for about 10-30 seconds, and then begins to load.. This also happens when closing takes about ten to thirty seconds, and then finally closes...
This happens with every single game I had.. This didn't happen in the beginning but started about three to four months ago.. I searched for other threads in different forums, but I couldn't find anything similar to my problem...

Hello Andrew.

Are these high performance games or smaller ones? You don't have a ton of RAM, and your CPU is not extremely powerful. Does this happen with movies? Anything else?

You could also try a defrag and registry defrag.

It happens to ALL games.

My computer defrags every wednesday at 1:00 a.m I dont know whether that works if my computer is on or off.

Do you recommend any registry cleaners? I don't want to risk losing vital information, so if you know some, give me a link please

Check up on AusLogics Registry cleaner. And defrag. Just search on Google for it.

i also have to add something which maybe be vital to our solution..
ever since I downloaded a program called D3D windower a while back, this has happened..

D3D windower allows you to minimize games that you aren't allowed to minimize.

My friends used this program,but this didn't occur to them..

You should probably uninstall it...

I cleaned my registry, and this program wasn't installed, just downloaded..

So far no results. Anything else?
