| Vista Home Premium 64 Bit | Games Won't Play I recently bought the Gateway LX6810 Quad with 8 Ram and installed the highest game graphics card and all the appropriate bells and whistles. I have installed twenty games that I had on my old computer and SOME of them work. But the new oned I bought that said they are for Vista do not work at all. I have 64 bit. What do I do? These games are for my sister's kids when I babysite and none of them work! |

| Vista Ultimate X64 SP2 | Re: Games Won't Play Have you tried Compatiblity mode? and what error(s) are you getting when they fail to run? Is it an install error or Run error? Most programs written for Windows XP also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not run at all. If an older program doesn't run correctly, start the Program Compatibility Wizard to simulate earlier versions of Windows. | Vista Home Premium 64 Bit | Re: Games Won't Play There isn't much else to tell other than the games wil load but do not play. One tells me to insert disc when the disc IS in the computer. I have re=booted, checked all my driver updates, installed and re-installed games, and am frustrated. There are no messages, just the game itself coming up but I can't do anything with it. I have Vista 64 bit.I did a clean sweep, closed out Norton etc. Nothing helps. ALso, once again, all of a sudden, I get the same problem with Windows e-mail telling me I have a second instance of it running in the back ground when I don't. It now only happens if the computer is dormant over night. I miss my old Windows 2000 Pro. |

| Vista Home Premium 64 Bit | Re: Games Won't Play I am trying to play this game called Bricks Of Egypt. I open the game because it is already installed, and then I get prompted to insert the CD disc again. The game re-installed again and then the front page comes up with the word. Bricks Of Egypt, and I press PLAY, and AGAIN it tells me to insert the CD disc. I un-installed and re-installed again but it keeps doing this. If I right click EXE nothing happens. |
