Volume Mixer not noticing certain games.

I wasn't sure to post this in the audio forum or the game forum, but since this has only been an issue with some older games I decided to post it here.

I'm having an issue with some games, most recently Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne, where the Volume mixer just dosn't see the game and subsequently I can't raise or lower the games volume. I tried running it as administrator and in compatibility mode for xp sp2 and Windows 200 but the Volume Mixer still doesn't see the game. The only reason this is an issue is because the ingame volume controls are setup to be either off or at the lowest setting, ear shatteringly loud. I also don't like to move the master volume at all because that changes the volumes of everything else that I have running and I'm very picky about different appilcation's volumes.

Any ideas?

No change sadly, uninstalled it ran CCleaner afterward just in case. Reinstalled, fully updated it ran it and same story.

Any chance you could link me to one of the forum topics that went over this already that solved this other then reinstall? You seemed a little agitated and I can't seem to find them.

hello:
---forgive me, the exclamation mark in the above post (I removed it) was meant to 'emphasize' how well my suggestion would be of use---I go to several online forums to cross-search for answers not just for you, but also for myself, and I do not know which one had the solution to your issue---I am sorry, but it seems that I am of no help---maybe others can aid here?---
peace
