Halo 2 PC : Can't set resolution to 1440x900

Hey guys.
I bought Halo 2 for PC and already installed it on my Vista. The standard resolution was 1024x768 which is just horrible on a 24" monitor. So, I checked if 1920x1200 would be fluid enough to play. Nope (I'm on a GeForce 8500GT). So, I wanted to put it on my "sure to play resolution" : 1440x900. But, this resolution is not shown! Is there a way to put it at this resolution?

As far as I know, I found the registry of those settings at

HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Halo 2 > Video Settings

EDIT

Changed the values but... they are back at 1280x720... SHOO!

hello:

---okay---(MY friends also play online gaming, and the 'characters' + visuals is very choppy/blocky looking on a BIG screen)---
---when one of the guys had a smaller monitor-screen, the game looked more normal - (but NOW on a 20" he just leaves the game to look 'choppy' - and the internet looks normal = this way he does NOT have to keep switching the settings back and forth)---
---so, you could set your screen-resolution size for regular-internet-browsing - IF that is your main 'all-time-use' on the pc - BUT sacrifice the game visuals as 'blocky' : or the other way around---which ever is MOST important to you---

---please post your results---thank you---

peace
