The Sims 2 and Vista

I have The Sims 2 games on my Toshiba laptop. The games include most E.P.'s. The OS is Vista. Specs are: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor TK57, 3GB RAM, 250GB HDD, DVD SuperMult Drive. I have the latest updated drivers. I have all the game patches. I have had all these games on my other system (XP) and they worked fine so I know there are no problems with the games. I continue to have graphic problems no matter what I download or try. Is it just Vista?? If there is a thread can someone point me in the right direction? We can only play the game for about 5 min. until it starts glitching bad. The sims and objects start stretching out and become dis-embodied. If we continue to play big black blotches appear across the screen and don't go away. (other games work fine btw, so I know it's not the drivers) What to do? I am soooo frustrated!

Hi,
The symptoms you are describing, sound like the laptop is overheating.
Can you post your temps when your not in a game, and right when it starts messing up?
Use this tool, and for a screenshot press "Print Scrn/SysRq" then go into paint, paste the image, save, then upload.
CPUID
It would also be helpful for the exact laptop, the model, etc...
It's possible that "The Sims 2" is overworking your graphics card, or maybe it was a bad install. I have no problems with "The Sims 2" on my computer.

Well, Vista isn't the problem...
I have every Sims 2 EP on vista home premium and runs perfectly...
It sounds to me like you have downloaded objects in your building inventory...
If you do.. disable them and try again.. if not.. I don't know..
