Re: [Prototype] Start issue

My guess would be your video card does not meet the system requirments

here they are
  • Operating System: Windows® XP (with Service Pack 3) and DirectX® 9.0c or (Windows Vista® with Service Pack 2)
  • Video Card: 256 MB 3D hardware accelerator card required - 100% DirectX® 9.0c with Shader Model 3 support*
  • Processor: Pentium(R) Intel Core® 2 Duo 2.6 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ or better
  • RAM: 1 GB of RAM for Windows ® XP / 2 GB Windows ® Vista systems
  • Hard Drive Space: 8 GB of uncompressed hard disk space (Plus 500MB for swap file.)
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 –compliant sound card
  • DVD-ROM: DVD-ROM
  • Peripheral:100% Windows(R) XP/Vista - compatible mouse, keyboard and drivers, 100% Windows(R) XP/Vista - compatible 4X DVD-ROM drive or better (600K/sec sustained transfer rate) and drivers

*Supported Chipsets for Windows(R) XP and Vista
All NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7800 256 MB and better chipsets
All ATI® Radeon™ X1800 256 MB and better chipsets

Re: [Prototype] Start issue

I would have to agree with fadedrs, your graphic's card is not up to it, plus your Cpu is a bit low too,(im assuming the 2Ghz is your CPU), your best bet is to go for game's about one/two years old, there are some great game's out there of that age. As a last resort you could try updating you graphic's card driver's if they have not been done for a while. It's a shame, but there are better game's than that out there anyway. Good luck.

Re: [Prototype] Start issue

Well,okay,thanks guys.
Well, yea I am playing Just Cause, Left 4 Dead, Medieval II Total War,Call of Duty 4 without any big problems anyways:P I have no idea about this game, so I dont care that much, its just ashame waste of money actually, but I saw it on youtube just thought it look cool :P
Anyways, thanks guys!

Edit: But I seriously doubt this would have an issue with starting the game?
Maybe its my DirectX or something.. I don't know.

Re: [Prototype] Start issue

it would affect you from starting the game. Dead Space also does the same thing on my wifes laptop cause the video card is below requirments.

have prototype installed have not played it yet though. just beat Terminator Salvation sweat game just to short, currently playing X-Men Origins Wolverine pretty cool so far, next is prototype or ghostbusters.

True that is why i just custom built a new system that i can continue to upgrade if needed. just waiting for memory makers to make sticks of ram bigger than 2gb, so i can have my full 32gb of ram in my mobo.

A custom build is the only way to go now a days. I was fed up playing catch up all the time, now it's their turn to catch me up. lol.
