Vista - Halo 2 Installing problem

Well I recently got a new disc drive and went to install halo 2 again. But when I run the startup.exe like it says to, the installation comes up but it's just a blue background with nothing in it. I'll attach a picture. I tried finding something on the internet but no one else had this problem, so I thought I'd ask here.

Is there an autorun.exe file on the disc?

Yeah, when it autoruns the same thing happens.

try running it in compatability mode for XP see if that works

I did, i got the message saying that the game is only for vista.

have you tried to clean the disc?

also have you installed from that disc before?

Yeah i installed it a while ago, before i got my new graphics card so it didn't run well. I uninstalled it after a while, but when i got a new card my disc drive broke so i haven't been able to play it until i got my new disc drive.

Anyone have any more ideas?

Do you have the latest directx drivers?

Went to download it, but the windows validation plug in won't download so i can't get to the dl page.
