Games Randomly Freezing

My Buddy has had a problerm with his new rig, he would play a game and it would randomly freeze out of nowhere, it can range from any game from Crysis to Counter Strike. What will happen is everything will freeze (he cant even ALT+CTR+DEL)

Is he overclocking any part of his PC ?, also take a look at what programs are running, take a look at startup in msconfig and see if there is anything he can do without, run CCleaner, Malwarebytes, and defrag the HDD. After that run memtest and start cheking the hardware. Bottom line is it could be anything.

    not great compared to other people..
my best tip is to either check if his processors are 64bit (if their are two and they are both 32bit that is fine), check if you have enough RAM to run the 64bit version (at least 4.5GB being exact) and also check if his video cards ad sound cards are up to date no later then 2007.
