Vista - Portal Game Issues

I recently got the game Portal, and everytime i try to play it, the game goes to the menu screen and gets blurry, and then it stops. No crash, no error message, or anything. Anyone got a way i can manage to play this game?

Have you tried updating your graphics card driver ? (what card are you using ?)
As you can see, your just about there on the min system requirements for the game but a little low on memory for running Vista.


System Requirements For Portal.

• Minimum: 1.7 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX® 8 level Graphics Card, Windows® Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection
  
  Recommended: Pentium 4 processor (3.0GHz, or better), 1GB RAM, DirectX® 9 level Graphics Card, Windows® Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

I dont know any good place to get the latest drivers, im sort of new to the internet

Can you tell me what make and model your PC is and i will try and help you find some.
Do you know what make of graphics card you have ?.
