Game FPS significantly lower after mass system upgrade

    Heyas all,

After my local PC store has proven themselves noobs, i've decided to peruse some forums for a resolution to my dilemma. For 2 years until a week ago, this was my system:

    AMD 4200+ Athlon x2 2.8GHz
Geforece 9500GT 128 bit, 1GB DDR2 32 strm proc. (this was my latest card)
3 GB of DDR, 3 sticks at PC 3200 and one at 2700 ( retarded i know, but wait)
Xtreme sound 5.1 Daimond MM cheapo speacial
MSI 7185 nForce 4 mobo, SLI etc..

After fate took its toll and i fried my cpu from a tiny shaving of metal from my drill bit head after installing a new fan, i was in a pinch for time and went and bought a new system:

( from dxdiag with my own notes):

    THE QUESTION IS:

even after a significant system upgrade why am i only getting 8-16 FPS on my games when before i even had ram w/ different timings!

i've scoured my event log, driver version and updated my bios. Ive ran memtest86 and chkdsk and every other utility, i really am at a loss and need help.

any and all advice is uber appreciated.

(and yes i've spoken with tech support from my games and they don't know what it is either)

    thank you

Did you reset your bios when you did all this upgrade? what about your hard drive, did you install a fresh vista? Sorry, you either didn't specify all this or I am getting more senile by the minute.

Also, I am terrible at reading DXdiag specs... did you also updated your motherboard?

You may want to go to your profile and update your "System Specs", this way, we all can see them and help better. You can see mine at the bottom of the content window above the Orange Post Reply button.

8-16 FPS increase is huge (believe it or not), more so if the other video settings went from low to high or even med to high

What did you use to measure the FPSs?

I would check you BIOS as AstaLaVista suggested. You can optimize the computer memory, etc. As far as DX10, you also have DX9 installed as well.

Lastly, what game are you playing that the FPS stinks?

That graphics card needs to be updated. A 9500GT is at the bottom end of gaming cards. A 9800GT would be a worthwhile update. It won't be your system, the cpu is OK, the memory is enough, but the gpu is slowing things down.
