Vista - Portal Crashes when a portal is opened

I go to play Portal and it runs REALLY good (at 30-70 fps) until a portal opens. After that the game just crashes. Is there a certain reason cuz I have it running on a laptop just fine.

I suspect the source engine doesn't like intel onboard GPU's, ive not had a problem running portal on my system, but everybody's system is different. Have you tried re-installing the game?
