Vista - Darn! I cant mod my game!

Okay, Im on black and white 2 and I really need to mod it! I went on the files and guess what? I modifed it for it to be easier and it came up that it cant find the file or path! (Happens after saving modified file) Any advice?

try running ur unzip program as administrator had same prob with oblivion mods.

I mean I cant edit the game files.

How are you doing your mod? unzip then drag and drop? direct manual file edit? if the code is correct it sounds like a permission problem. for manual edit try using word pad in "Run as Administrator" mode. for extracting files same deal run as administrator if using a different method please elaborate cuz I'm a little slow some days

Going into the program files and then change the notepad words.

I dont use mods. I modify the files in program files like:

(Name)/Program Files/B&W/Data/

Then I click a file called something something.

Then I Change something like:
Artifact_WONDER_SIRIN 1000000 to 1000

Then I click save and it says.

Cannot save because the file or path is not found.

Bla bla bla bla bla.

It does this even when you open WP as admin? also, make sure to preserve file pathway and format when saving it again (i.e. program files/blahblah.bin stays program files/blahblah.bin) If that doesn't work try to save it to desktop as same type then transfer to game data file via drag and drop. If that doesn't work it means I'm outta ideas and it'll probably be either forehead smackingly obvious or stephen hawking class techie gobbeldygook!
