Well I ran tests on all the games that i play such as css tf2 l4d cod4 most games like that, and i pass the reccomendations if not then requirements anyways lets get to the point when i look at big groups of npcs or other online users who play these games i lag bad my ping does not shoot up or anythhing. and when i look at walls or nothing at all i dont. when i look at too much of a map like straight ahead i lag also. well if anyone knows how to solve this please let me know i would much like to furthermore "own noobs" in these games. Thanks if help is applied:D

An Intel Chipset will see lag in Source at high settings. Thus I would recommend turning down settings to low. Especially in the case of HDR and shaders although I can't speak for Call of Duty.

Hope this helps with the nubs.

Then it would seem something is choking your system (I assume that the same problem occurs in single-player.) First update your drivers and operating system (to SP2) and then download Process Explorer. Please take a screenshot of the list of processes as well as the system information window (Ctrl+I.)

ook downloading sp2 now if there was any updates for my drivers it would be on the windows update right? or do i have to go to the site manually. if it was on windows update then i already havve the latest drivers. and is it vista sucking my ram up?

My Computer

wait i think i might have found the problem its because winvista uses about 1.5 gb ram, that means i have 500mb to play my games on, my dad said that he will buy a 1gb ram and add it to my case so i have 1.5gb to play these games will cod4 work with 1.5 gb?

My Computer

Yes it will, however such spending is unnecessary. I would recommend that you start to tweak the OS; currently Vista runs at 600 MB idle for me.

Tweaking isn't necessary and won't reduce RAM usage by much. Vista idles for me around 1.5GB to 2GB. Your processor is too weak for gaming. That's slowing you down. Upgrade the celeron. Also get an additional 1GB of RAM.

My CPU is about that speed for my desktop, but I run 3 gigs of ram in my computer. I rarely slow down in Everquest 1.

Everquest 1 isn't a shooter.

I second with audacity! If you do a little research, you can conceivably get Vista to idle at 450.
